Being taught by a 'too!

I've only had Lyle four days and I'm already learning a lot for him. I'm understanding more about trust and respect then I ever have. I'm learning how to interact and involve him without being invasive. its a really wonderful and thing. I'm gaining his trust by respecting him and not pushing him, parrots are so much different then other animals, with dogs you're their leader, their alpha. With a parrot its more of a equal relationship I respect and understand him and he does the same. I took for granted with my smaller birds that they were already cuddly from the start but with him I have to let him show me what he needs. I can tell he's going to not only teach me about me but about life!

He he he was scratching his head with a vine balls and now I'm trying to teach him to press buttons on a baby book that make animal noises. He did it once and his crest flew up now he is trying very hard to do it again.

He sounds wonderful, I'm glad you're getting along and it's amazing how much they can teach you. Parrots really are quite human!
