Question Ziggy's wierd habit (video)

Here is my most recent video of my birdies.

But I have a question too.

When Ziggy and Bentley get let out together, Ziggy always seems to try and regurgitate food for him. She never manages to get any food up though, because she's too young. Is it normal for her to do this?

She starts to regurgitate and Bentley makes a noise like he's saying 'stop it!' and she stops. Then she gets annoyed and pushes her foot in his face!

Also, look at what she does with her foot. She puts it in his face! I think she might be imitating the way I stroke her with my hand, and she's trying to do that to Bentley.

She does that all the time, whether she's putting the foot on his back, neck or round his face. She's very gentle, but it's quite funny watching her waving it around like she's saying 'talk to the hand' !!

LOL! Sorry, her regurgitating looks so silly! She's trying so hard! Honestly, Ella? I would say Ziggy is getting a little too bonded with Bentley - if she keeps trying to barf all over him you may want to pull back a bit and cut their time together a pinch, I'm nervous that Ziggy will get really frustrated when she goes through her puberty stage

lol she's so cute!
it definitely looks like she's liking her new friend a bit too much that foot thing is her trying to mate with Bentley. I agree with Jenny, maybe a bit less time spent together would help her out when she reaches sexual maturity

Speaking from experience, I would limit their time together.

I had a linnie who became very bonded with my parrotlet, to the point where she became aggressively sexually frustrated both to myself, my husband and Jack (the one she desired, my parrotlet). This was very stressful for everyone involved, including our parrotlet. He didnt appreciate her advances, especially when she attacked us and him when she wanted him away from us.

We ended up rehoming our linnie as she became very depressed without Jack, and very angry with myself and my husband. She is much happier now in her new home, back to her happy, sweet self.

So please be careful that your little conure doesnt bond too closely to your budgie

I"m so glad I posted this.

Thank you so much. I'm not crazy then, she is getting a bit too bonded.

A few weeks ago, I would NEVER have believed Ziggy could get so bonded with a budgie, but it's true.

I will definitley limit their time, the last thing I want is an upset, frustrated conure. I don't want my precious baby turning into a nightmare, I just couldn't stand that.

Thank you very much for warning me.
