Runny Nose?????

My peach faced lovebird Leona has had an off and on runny nose for the past week and I am unsure of what it is or what to do???? I know it isn't water because it happens too frequently and the liquid is obviously coming from her nose. It will sometimes only come out of one nostril and some of her feather surrounding the nostril will look as if coated with a grey liquid but it eventually fades. Please Help!!

I think you need a vet.. Sounds like a upper respiratory infection.

I agree, take her to the Vet as it sounds like an upper respiratory infection and without treatment those can get NASTY and even fatal.

I too would say you're dealing with an upper respiratory infection. Let us know how you get on!

Hi Tori,
please don't be afraid of the Avian vet.
I know it is stressy for our cuties, but Avian respiratory infections often don't heal by themselves.

Update: Leona is fine! Turns out it was just irritation! I was glad to meet the new vet though since I was switching, and she told me how rinse out her nose if it happens again!
