Bird diaper, harness or leash

Do you have a bird diaper, harness or leash for your bird(s)? I have an AvianFashions diaper/suit for Harpo, but I never use it because he doesn't like it. I've tried all the tricks to slowly acquaint him with it, but it never works. I try to tell him that if he puts it on, we can go explore the outdoors, but he doesn't listen.

I have flight suits for my conures. I use them when I take them outside. Like to the park or to the kids school. They don't like getting them on, but once they're on, it's not so bad. The key is to have them start wearing one when they are little babies, and continually use it a few times a week. I don't use them as often as I should especially with my green cheek.

I am expecting a flight suit in the mail for Parsley any day now. I will let everyone know how she does. She is a 3 yr old linnie so it could be a challenge.

I'll be getting a harness for Goober, the severe, soon. I really want to dress up as a Pirate for Halloween now and bring him with me! I'll dress up one way or another, but if I can get him in a harness, I can walk the street with him rather than just answer the door!

On the older birds, it certainly does take some effort.

Harpo hates his cute red flight suit. I bought it for him when he was probably around a year old, and he still hates it to this day. I've tried keeping it near his cage (but outside) so he can observe it and learn that it isn't harmful. I would move it closer each day, then eventually inside of the cage. No luck.

So, I decided to just get it on him, but it's impossible to without using a towel because he throws a fit and bites. Once it's on him, he doesn't care about anything around him, as he devotes 110% effort trying to get the darn suit off. He picks at it, bites, flaps his wings - nothing works, but he keeps at it. So I've given up.

Maybe one day he will decide he wants to explore the outdoors and will hop right into the suit.

I used to have a bird diaper for my cockatiel.. It works very well!

Back on topic... Yes, I have a harness for my Mochi. She doesn't *quite* appreciate it much, but once it's on she's excited to go outside. I take her on my nature walks and she's always so curious about everything that she forgets about the harness.

Recently, though, I can't find the harness. I'm starting to suspsect that she hid it somewhere.

Well, Goober took to the flight harness instantly! He's wearing it right now, preening around it and ignoring it. Putting it on I took a little nip, but he was very tolerant. He went for a bike ride with me today! He rode on my head for a bit then moved to my shoulder, chatting up a storm, preening, having a grand old time! He seemed to love watching the grackles and wild quakers zoom over head Got some attention from the neighbors too!

I tried using a bird diaper for a while but hated the way it fitted. I bought an aviator harness which i MUCH prefer. I've gotten it on Cookie (tiel), Zoe and Savvy (green cheeks), none of them love it, but all of them tolerate it.

I tried one for Levi, my Linnie. He aloowed me to put it on him, but he stumbled around so much that I haven't had the heart to get him in it again...

I just bought an Avian Fashions suit for my GCC today. We'll see how it goes when I try to put it on her. I did a little test by putting a tissue on top of her and lifting her wings...she acted like I wasn't even there, so I remain hopeful

I honestly think the aviator harness is the safest its very secure and does not get in the way of the cropm, i would think the diaper a bit bulky for a lovebird but you can check, I would suggest you go on to the website for sizes, I love my aviator because it really feels secure I think the diaper is nice for not getting poop on you during a trip though
