Wierd poop..

I've been watching ice's poop lately and ive noticed the feces part of it is usually red.. which freaked me out!!

I wasnt extremely worried.. because ice eats colored pellets and they are extremely colorful and she only really only eats the red ones.. so i took away her pellets and only fed her seeds for the last day or so...

And her poop went back to normal.. a nice green.. RELIEF!

When I had my conure for a few weeks my son took him out of he cage... 1st thing he did was have a hugeee poop on the floor, my son panicked and called me over cuz it looked like pure blood on the floor... I wiped it up and it looked like red mush... but not really a blood red then... I also was VERY worried , but thought of the red pellets in his food and removed everything but seeds and poop went normal color too... so I know your relief...lol Funny thing is my parrotlet and budgies all eat Zupreem fruity pellets and none of them get funky poop from them.

I've never used any pellets with red in them but that sounds really odd! I can see why you would be worried though. I'd freak out like crazy if it was my bird my conure poops a lot! And they're usually your normal green poops but when he's had his fruit they're awfully watery

Both mine who eat the zupreem pellets get the red poop, except for their first thing in the morning poops, those come out normal. Very strange.

mulberries, black berries raspberries, will cause messy poop too. Don't get too excited if you see red poop then as well

Kiki poops ALL THE TIME. It's so irritating. Hers are often watery, but that's just the style of Kiki poop I believe.

Abby, Dexter poops constantly too. They're healthy, but there's a lot of it. I made the mistake of letting him sit on my chest while I was lying in bed first thing in the morning and he did the biggest poop ever! I'd never of imagined something so small could make something so big!

I have a new couch so I always put a blanket on it when I have the birds out .. and wash it once or twice a week... I also wear an old shirt I call my "s**t shirt" ...lol so when I get pooped on I just take that shirt off... bonus is no holes chewed in my good clothes either.
