Help!african grey

so appearently leo has an infection and the vet thinks since there is a cut under his foot his sick...any how he said his foot looks imflamed and underhis bottom beak is also read... he prescribed batril 22.7mg once a day for 10 days have u guys had experience with this drug?

i should add 22.7mg/ml and he is prescribed .1ml

I'm sorry to hear Leo is ill with an infection, Baytril is pretty much the 1st and main drug prescribed to birds for any infection or problem so trust your vet and do what he advises.

I hope Leo gets better soon please keep us posted with his improvements.

I had very good experience with Baytril.
In the late summer last year Yuki had an infection because her immune system was down after she had layed 10 eggs since spring.
She could tolerate the treatment without any problem and she got completely well again.
I wish your Grey a quick recovery.

Baytril is a go to drug, I'm sure most of us who have dealt with animals have had to have it. That and metacam. Do you know what caused an infection? Bumblefoot can occur when birds don't have comfortable perches and if the skin tears then you obviously have the risk of infection
