Exclamation Not sure what kind of plant this is

I'm not sure what kind of plant this is I've had it for about 4 months now and have kept it outside just to find out it's an inside plant. It belonged to my great aunt who gave it to my mom who gave it to me. I took it into the kitchen to take a better picture of it. If you know the name of it pleaseeee let me know because I have no clue. I want to know if it's safe for a tiel, budgie, and GCC. Any help will be appreciated and thanks in advance!

If you need more pictures of the plant please let me know.

I don't know really, but just make sure the birds don't go near it.

I'm keeping it in my bedroom for now but I wanted to put it in the living room or kitchen is why I ask, and the birds go in both of those rooms.

Looks kinda like a caladium, but I dunno for sure. Maybe try a plants forum?

I'd make sure they don't go near it...

I'm completely clueless, I know nothing of plants. I hope somebody can help you on here though! As the others have said, I'd just make sure that your birds didn't go near it. When I take mine into the living rooms we often have plants and flowers but the birds never go near them.

Hey everyone and thank you all for your help!!! I looked up philodendron images on google and it's definitely not safe for them so I'll keep it away from them. I love plants but never know the names of them half of the time lol. So thanks

Can we get another picuture? I'm a horticulture major, but the only thing I want to say for sure is that the family its in is Araceae, or the Arum family. Most houseplants in the araceae family are poisonous, including, peace lily, philodendron, diffenbachia, pothos, and others. sorry to give you the bad news! On a positive note, you may not want to get rid of it, because some araceae's are fantasitc filters for chemicals in the air, NASA did a study to find the most beneficial plants for human health. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_air-filtering_plants
