How do YOU deal with poop?

Seriously...how do YOU deal with birdy poop? I've only had budgies, and their poop is so tiny it's hard to be bothered by it- just grab a kleenex and clean it up. I'm not above being pooped on by my birds, but now that I have a slightly larger bird, I'm curious what others do. Do you have a special 'bird shirt'? Use a flight suit? Or train your bird not to poop on humans? Please share your poop-coping techniques!

I have NEVER been pooped on by Maxx.

Let me clarify that, He might poop on the floor around my chair, but never on me.

I have a yellow sided GCC and s/he poops on me all the time. I just clean it up. Now once my Pi lets me handle her that will be a little more yucky, but that's okay, all a part of bird ownership.

I place an old blanket on my new couch... wear a poop shirt .... and I also ask my conure to go potty before I allow him out of the cage. When he is out on me I keep an old magazine or catalog on my footstool and every 4-5 minutes set him o it and ask him to go potty ... which he ussually does.. when done I rip off the top page , toss it and have a clean page for next time...lol

I have one of my husband's old shirts that I use as a "poop shirt". I wear it when my Parrotlet is on my shoulder, but she doesn't poop very often compared to the bigger birds. I don't allow the other two on my shoulder, but when I'm holding them, I have a paper towel in my lap.

My Conure will poop on command -- "Make a poopie" -- she even says it! It's a good thing, because she poops every ten minutes!

As you might imagine, the bigger the bird, the bigger the poops! My new bird, a Hahn's Macaw, poops BIG, and compared to my Parrotlet, REAL BIG! LOL! He doesn't poop when I'm holding him though, which is GOOD.

Bird poop is part of the deal -- I just clean it up and go on! Actually, with 3 dogs (housebroken) and 3 birds, you might say poop is my LIFE!

All my birds are out of their cage nearly all day. I laid down newpaper all around the cages and underneath where ever they perches. When I have them on me I would ask them to do a poop prior. I always have baby wet wipes available at hand in case of any poop incident. My Senegal once he's done the initial poop he can play up to an hour with no poop incident. My conures I wouldn't trust them any longer than 10 minutes, same with the Quaker. The budgies are just out of control and poop anytime and everywherebut I have newpaper underneath.

You got that right!

You just look at them sideways and they give you the 'Poop-Poop' salute.

It is that way with my Finches too. I go stand at the cage and just look at them and I hear splat...splat....splat.

I have a story....
Yesterday, Alex flew onto my head like he always does. But when he suddenly pooped, it went through my hair, down my chest, and....INTO MY BRA. Talk about nasty. As I'm sure you can imagine, I freaked out.

Yeah, I do nothing special, just clean up poop when I see it and try not to get pooped on!
