Clipped nail

While clipping my GCC's nails today I accidentally clipped one too short... the poor fella gave a little sqweek and then his nail started to bleed Then instead of biting me or getting mad at me, he wanted to climb under my chin and cuddle ( bleeding all over me while I tried to peel him off ).. I got it stopped with corn starch and put him in his cage to relax... of course every time I went to check on him he got all excited and hyper and got it bleeding again.. so I had to take him out and stop it again , it is little sore cuz once in a while he will hold up his foot... I felt so guilty!! He got extra treats when he went back in his cage!

Everybody makes mistakes! At least you didn't use the wrong stuff!

He was just so lovin afterward... like ... if I love all over her , maybe she won't do that again... I felt so bad for him... and he sat so quiet for me to hold his toe after I cut it... if you would just hold that still before , then it would'nt of happened...

Awww, hope he feels better tomorrow! I take my birds (except my Parrotlet, she does her own nails!) to my bird shop for grooming. They do the wings, beak if necessary and nails for $10, so easier (on me) to go there. They don't clip, they use a dremmel grinding tool for nails and beak, takes a little longer, but no worries about bleeding. I have one for my dogs' nails, but too chicken to try it on the birds!!

Hope he's fine tomorrow!
