Thumbs down A little worried

So lately I've noticed that Elmo's one foot does not grip like it should and so I googled And I found a whole lot of scary stuff about vitamin a deficiency and I got totally freaked out. the thing is that there is nothing else that's wrong with him I've been watching him soo closely and he is eating great and weaning well and I've been weighing him and he has put on weight like he is supposed to he's been active and playful and vocal his wings aren't hanging he is not vomiting his poop look great there is nothing coming from his nostrils and his eyes are clear . He has no bad breath or heavy breathing either so as you can see I've looked at every thing ! So does any one know what I could be ? Im very worried so any advice would help

I honestly don't know.... Is it consistant, or did it happen once? Just keep a close eye. If it continues maybe take him to the vet.

No it's constant , I think I'm going to take him to the vet if it doesn't improve by Wednesday

Oh one more thing I just remembered! You know how if birds are relaxed or tired they sometimes perch on one foot right? It maybe could be that...

My linnie, Boo, started doing that and it got so bad that he wouldn't put his foot down on the perch. I took him to the vet -two hours away one way for me - and they did xrays. They couldn't find anything wrong with it. She gave us some meds that she called birdy motrin. It healed perfectly and he has been fine every since. She thought that he maybe just sprained it.

If you mean it's weak when he's picking up food it's totally fine. My Pickles can pick up food with his feet and eat it just great whilst Dexter has only ever bent down and eaten it face first. Dexter now copies Pickles and tries to hold it but totally fails and can't grip anything too good. He's in pefect health!

If you think vitamin A.
feed lots of carrot.
my vet thought my tiels had PBFD at one point.
I fed lots of carrot and cabbage to boost their vitamin intake.
they recovered well, so obviously not PBFD
Also I think some birds are handed.
like we are right or left handed!
