Mineral oil treating?

i bought some sisal lately and ive seen it has been treated with mineral oil, i havnt givin it to ice yet(thank goodness)\

i was wondering if it would be okay if i gave it a good soaking? or is that still going to be toxic??

thanks!

A nice warm soak usually does the trick with most things. However, see what the others say first!

If it's mineral it must be pretty natural.. I don't know for sure so maybe hold off for a bit.

If it is mineral oil it should not be toxic... but I am not sure.

Oh, I hope its not treated here as Bob has a homemade toy hung up with it.
I'd boil it for 5 mins. See if you get a film on the water.

My understanding is mineral oil is ok in very small amounts - I personally wouldn't risk it, or would contact an avian vet first

I soaked it in scolding water for 20 min..the rope was a yellowish color..and the rope is now a beige color..and the water was yellow... Im not going to risk it.
