Budgie health question, help...

My male budgie, shares cage with female, has been acting funny, wen he breaths it seems like his whole body pufs up and dow, not just feathers, its kind of hard to explain wat I mean, almost like he is breathing really heavy, and at night, all night long, he makes a funny noise, sometimes its raspy and sometimes sounds like a baby dol crying "mama" in a way.... A respiratory issue maybe? Also if I gave Ornacyn, broad spectrum anti biotic, can it b harmful if its not respiratory problem, plus they share the same water dishes...

I don't know about the medication, but perhaps he needs to see an avian vet. Could be a respiratory problem.

Keep us posted!

Sounds like a respiratory problem to me, especially if his breathing seems laboured.

I agree with the others, it sounds like a respiratory issue. I would take him to a vet, if you can. I don't know enough about that medication to make any recommendations; isn't it meant for poultry birds? I think we used to sell it at the pet shop, but I can't recall, it wasn't popular

They may sell it for poultry as well but this partiular package is for parrots/companion birds, it is for respiratory issues among other things.

That really stinks. I agree with the others, just try to get him to the vet as soon as possible. Hope everything turns out alright.
