Unhappy Looks like Daisy may be headed to the vett

So I came home from work last night and went to my room and my parrotlets were sitting on the bed. One of my kids mustve left the cage open while I was done.. Daisy is only using one foot. She has that deformity on the one foot as I have mentioned before and now she isnt using it. Nothing is broken that I can tell. Shes still moving the leg, still climbing and flying. It isnt paining her and she isnt acting unusual. No eggs, poo seems normal. She just isnt using the foot although last night she tries to use it a big and is still perching on it. Ive put together a "hospital" cage for her and she usnt happy about being away from Lucy but I dont want her wiping out in the big cage till I know whats going on. My sister said she may have stoed (sp) the foot and since she is trying to use it then thats a good sign or it couldbe something with it acting up since it was bad to begin with. Im extremelly worried and have cried alake so far. Any suggestions?

Yes, it sounds like a visit to your avian vet would be a good thing. Hope she gets better soon!

Definitely get to a vet just to be on the safe side. I'm unsure as to what it could be, but I hope you find out soon and that everything will be fine

Short update on Daisy. Ive kept her warm and quiet. I cant go to tthe vet till Monday. I just went and checked on her and she is perching, outting weight on the foot, not totally gripping but she was using it to climb earier. Yay! This hopefullyisnot as serious and I first though but will keep everyone posted on her progress.

UPDATE!!!!!

daisy is walking very well. Her toes still arent 100%. Yesterday she was walking all over Heath. She was actually stretching from his chest to his chin to pull his whiskers. It was so cute! The best part about it is that is she had to put her full weight on both legs and feet to reach. I cried I was so excited. Shes coming along minus a loan for a vet. lol

The down side. Ive had her in a "hospital cage" alone since this happened on Friday. We put them in the same cage for awhile so they could spend time together and Lucy started chasing her around the cage! Now they loved each other like crazy for ever and now Lucy is chasing her. I think what Im going to do is take Lucy out and put her in another cage till Im ready for Daisy to go back into her regular cage, then reintroduce them together back into the big cage. That way no one can have any extraq "claim" to it. Any ideas? Think this sounds like a good plan? Thanks all for any feedback and for being my backbone through this!

Shannon,
Thats what I was thinking too. I hope thier bond isnt ruined after all this. Makes me wonder if a fight is what caused all this in the first place.
