Swine Flu infecting the Avian population

Just wanted to post to stress the importance of handwashing before handling your fids this flu season.

It seems the swine flu has mutated enough to infect the bird population - and none of us want are feathered kids to get sick.

My first thought is that step one is to require all customers to sanitize their hands upon entry to the store, and that no birds that don't belong in the shop can be brought in.

Oh, that's already in place, people just don't listen all the time I'm more concerned about them sneezing on the cages or toys or something. Oh well, there's only so much you can do to keep things safe. The rest is crossing your fingers and hoping people are polite and listen!

Yea, I don't think it effects the birds as severly as it does us, but than it didn't effect us as severly at first either.

I guess we just have to step up our cleaning and personal hygein and hope for the best!
