Is there a safe waffle maker?

I know that non-stick cookware is bad for birds. We don't cook with anything "non-stick" in the house. BUT, I would really love to have a waffle maker. I haven't gotten one because of the whole teflon issue, but I thought I'd ask and see if anyone knows of one that is safe for birds. Do they make ceramic waffle irons? Or anything else that is safe for birds? Thanks!

I haven't a clue but I'd like to know. I'm buying loads of stuff for my new house and I've specifically said nothing non-stick! Waffle makers are awesome. Won't wanna miss out

I don't use nonstick cookware but I do have a waffle iron and an electric griddle for pancakes and use them. The birds are not in the kitchen and honestly, how long does it take to make waffles or pancakes for breakfast? It's not an item I use everyday. I think that as long as you keep them at the proper temperature and don't overheat or burn anything and keep the birds out of the kitchen it should be fine. I have never had an issue. I hate nonstick but sometimes there are few if any other options for appliances like that.
