Stomach Gurgles?

Lately Goober's stomach has been... rumbling or gurgling is the best word to describe it. She's the first bird larger than a tiel I've owned in... 7 years, so I'm not used to this!

She's also sneezing wet sneezes a lot and itching her nose afterwards... could that be because of the tiel in the room? I know macaws can be sensitive to cockatoo dander, but I'm not sure of the symptoms there. Thanks guys!

I can't help you much, but if things aren't looking good, I suggest taking her to a vet.
I'm no expert, but sneezing, itching and a rumbling tummy don't sound normal.
I couldn't bear it if anything happened to her, poor baby!

Yeah... I thought about the vet too... Right now, I'm unemployed and a visit would be $50 minimum, so I'm trying to stave it off... I also have some anti-histamines perscribed by the vet for Loki for allergies he no longer needs which are still good, and I'm considering putting her on them. She's been on them before to see if it would help with her feather chewing, so I know she will react fine to them.

I fully understand about the vet thing, I once went because I was worried about my budgie, turned out he was fine and I'd just spent $35!

I sort of try to put it off unless it's serious, or I'm very worried.

It does sort of sound like an allergy with the sneezing and itching part, but I don't think stomach gurgling is a normal symptom.

Maybe you should wait a while, and see how things go.

If the anti-histamine is okay, then I suppose it wouldn't hurt to give them a go if things get worse.

Ohh Jenny there are so few people that would notice birds having stomach gurgles.. I would. I know that wasn't helpful at all but I would try the antihistamines. You should be able to tell after a day or so. Or get rid of the 'stinky' bird Kidding of course.

Haha, I thought of moving Moose, but I don't really have anywhere else to put him I put her on the anti-histamine this morning, so we'll see what happens!

Thanks, Stacey! At least I know I'm not the only one to hear parrot tummy gurgles! She hasn't done it as much in the last few days, so I'm not too worried. I may add some bene-bac to her fresh food too, since it's a digestive thing The antihistamine isn't making much difference so far, but we're on day 2 so... everyone cross your fingers!

I don't know what I'll do if it's dander allergies... I don't have anywhere else in the house to put Moose where he's not all by himself... I'd find him a home with friends, but the only people I know who would be interested in him right now is breeders, and I don't want Moose just thrown in an outdoor breeder cage... He loves human attention and I don't want him to lose that

I hear Spike make a gurgle noise when he has a poop sometimes. Would you be able to take in a sample of Goobers poop and get a gram stain done?

Possibly, after December 11th. Right now, I have another job lined up, but I won't get paid until at least that date since it's bi-weekly. The stomach gurgles have almost completely stopped, thankfully, so I'm not too worried about that any longer. Now the big concern is the stupid sneezing
