pin feathers on a senegal

Hello. My husbands senegal has lots of pin feathers on his head and he has been moody and nippy. Not like him at all. I was wondering how I can help him to feel better and some relief.

Try and get him in the shower where it's nice and steamy if he will let you, and if the pinnies are ready to break off then you can help him do that

My senegal is used to being handle so when ever he's got pin feathers I would help him to preen out the pinnies . Your husband must keep up handling the senegal everyday, nippy and moody for a senegal when he has pinnies is not normal, don't give him a chance to make nipping a habit. I handle my senegal daily to ensure he doesn't become wild .

Both my husband and I handle him all the time, even when he is moody. We just let him know that he is not hurting us. He is such a joy and I love watching him being a comedian.

That's good . I am happy just to know you're happy with your senegal- they are great birds, a bundle of joy .
