So mad

okay so yesterday we went to Jolleyes in Enfield for pupply supplies, bird food, fish food and rabbit food. They used to have loads of pets there, and then they changed it, and now they have them again, but it was just birds there. There were quail, bantam hens, finches, kakarikis, lovebirds, cockatiels, budgies, and a bourkes parrot. They were in pretty good conditions. Then we stopped off at the Enfield bird center to get a treat for the budgie and senegal. But they are not in very good condition. There were african greys, amazons, galahs and cockatiels in small-medium sized cages. There were also conures, king parrots, and swift parrots. But worst of all there was a dying budgie in the cage with the other budgies. The woman hadn't even noticed! We had to inform the lady and she had to get it out. They really should take better care of their birds. We bought a bell treat each for our birds. Needless to say we are not going there again.

You should advise this SPCA so they can close them down.

They were probably in smaller cages because they suspect the birds to be sold. They won't be in them forever. But the thing with the budgie is sad and sadly happens in a lot of places. There's a place not far from me who had a budgie with half a beak snapped off and they did nothing. I said give me the bird and I'll get a vet in for it and they said NO! Urgh

I know And trying to save them often encourages their business. They should have let you have him! The RSPCA is hypocritical as well. Once a Great Dane gave birth to "too many" puppies when my mum was a vet nurse, and she offered to keep some of them to sell them etc, and the RSPCA said no and killed the puppies anyway!!!!!

I'm not the biggest fan of them, half the time I don't believe they really know what they're doing. Especially with birds and exotics. Smaller, species specific rescues are the best
