cockatiel swollen toe

Hello.. I try not to write a long post.. So long story short..
Male cockatiel named Zarathustra had a fight, injured feet got swollen after a couple of weeks.
He took oral medication and three ointments and did show improvement. One of the ointments that vet gave us had gentamicin (it's my fault i know!). He had side effects as you may already know (polyuria, polydipsia), the vet thought he would die, he also had a lung accident while drinking water.. Also affected with chlamydia due to vet's fault..
After many miles to different cities and after 2 avian vets we consulted, the advice is to let him recover on his own and i totally agree with that.. But his toe the last 38 days is still a little bit swollen, he didn't get worse, he steps on the foot but he doesn't put pressure on the toe. He had recovered from everything else but gets a little watery droppings when he is anxious or eating a lot of greens, this is normal, right? Any advices would be much appreciated. Has anyone tried aloe vera gel? Is it natural straight form the plant?
Muchas gracias

Aloe Vera is fantastic for injuries and when my hawk gets cuts on his legs I usually lather it on I can't believe your birds got psittacosis from the vets! Did they give you antibiotics for that? With the foot, I would say just keep an eye on it for some time, maybe take a photo every day so you can see improvement

For pain and inflammation, you can get some cayenne pepper powder from the store and some gel from an aloe vera plant...make a paste of it and apply to the affected area.
