Avian Borna Virus and PDD
Hello how are you today? So .. my tiels before several months had seeds in droppings, two male tiels, one female and one male budgie. Avian vet told us after many trips that they are ok, it's just a digestive problem and because we were off veggies for a couple of months maybe more due to every day medications (newcastle disease). OK so when i started veggies again, everyone became healthy except one male tiel and one male budgie but there are not so many seeds in droppings.. I mean the male tiel may have a couple of droppings with one seed inside now and then.. the male budgie Hercules may have a couple of droppings with one seed every two-four weeks or something. We consulted another avian vet, told me to be very careful, it could be something serious although the birds are singing and dancing all the time! I have several days to see seeds in droppings, i bought better quality of seeds but just talked with the vet again he keeps talking about borna virus and i'm so anxious right now..
Is it so dangerous? I wouldn't see any other symptoms? I'm terrified! Is it a possibility the first avian vet had made such a mistake and didn't recognise the symptoms, after all he kept the male budgie for a couple of weeks and tested all the droppings of all birds.
Forgot to say when i first notice that was when their seed food for some reason wasn't fresh, was strange anyway and i hadn't notice neither the vet, when i had new food then i saw the difference and when gave them the new food 2 of the birds became healthy right after eating and i saw a huge improvement on the two others.
