Amazons, like most big parrots, are very susceptible to change.
Even new curtains or new furniture can have them in a frenzy!
Your parrot may not show it if he's upset in any way.
He could also be bored.
Linnielover made a good point. Has he been tested for beak and feather disease? His beak is terribly overgrown.
So that his beak may be stopping him eating or doing things normally which could make him annoyed and cause him to pluck his feathers.
Parrots can take a while to stop feather plucking. But it can be done. Misting is a good idea, and maybe if possible, watching him for a while to see if you can find the cause.
