Looking a little bit off? Not sure.
I just got a baby Senegal from a breeder about a week and a half ago. She is doing great, loves to be held now and lets us know when she wants us to hold her, eating great.
I was gone for the day yesterday, and when I came home she seemed depressed. I don't think that she has ever been alone that long in her life, so I thought that maybe that was the reason that she seemed subdued.
Today, she seems a little bit off. Her energy level seems a little bit lower than usual, her feathers, while not puffed up, seem less sleek. And when her feathers seem a little bit ruffly, she seems to be trembling very slightly, giving her feathers the appearance of slow vibration.
Is this something to worry about? She is eating well and drinking.
Could it simply be stress? Usually she doesn't ask to be held until evening, but this morning she wanted me right away, as soon as I got up, and stayed on me for a very long time- long enough that I know that she must have been really hungry.
She seems to eat more nuts than pellets. She also eats a lot of thawed but uncooked, frozen peas and some other veggies and fruits. Should I be limiting her nuts, in order to force her to eat more pellets?
