Watched the video, too cute I could see how Mina was trying to lift her wing up high enough to get the water under. I use a spray both because my linnies love to have water sprayed under their wings and on the chest. Bath time is always so fun!

Thank you so much! Mina is a lineolated parakeet. What is she like? Mina is super playful and busy. She is very inquisitive and not scared of new things. She can be bossy at times with my budgie or passively resistent with me, but she is never aggressive. Mina is more cautious about meeting new people or new birds than she is about new environments or new things. She loves to try new food, toys, and take baths. Mina is very quiet and only makes noise when she is distressed, like wanting to go to bed, or wanting more seeds, etc. She is very sweet, smart, and thoughtful but can also be silly. She is more reserved with her emotions then my parrotlet, so it has taken her longer to show she loves me, but she is a heartbreaker. She just makes you melt. I love linnies. They are pretty great little birds. There aren't many cons at all to owning one.

Would her species be good for a person who hasn't had a bird before. She reminds me of a parrotlet my grandma had at one time.

Yes I think linnies would be fine for beginners. They are slightly more advanced than a budgie in their behaviors/care, but still very beginner friendly. Parrotlets and lovebirds will be more on the challenging side for beginners, but would also still be fine for a patient person that has some general pet ownership experience.

I have 3 linnies will be getting a green linnie. My Levi is about 3 yrs. is independent, doesn't want to be touched or get on my finger, but I still love him, he can be a real character. Skyler is a sweetheart, 1yr. old loves to cuddle be on my shoulder. And is my only talker! Even sounds like me when I laugh! So cute Karma less than a yr. is my female linnie pale yellow in color and is sooo sweet loves to cuddle, and be on my shoulder or finger too and is starting to talk They like their toys. I let them out of their cages together when I'm in the room. They really don't fly much prefer to walk. This is Levi and Karma together. Allthough they are called lineolated or barred parakeets they act more like parrots. Like to eat their fruit/veggies with their feet! I love to watch, never gets old!! A good choice in my opinion!
