Sleepy time

So kinda bummed. I managed to delete this absolutely hilarious video of Reptar rolling over from my shoulder to my chest and then physically climbing down my shirt backwards. Sounds silly, but it was the first time he had ever done it and I was amazed I'd managed to catch it on video. Brilliant me erased it instead of emailing it. OH WELL.

Instead, I bring you sleepy Reptar. This is a regular occurrence for him, but the first time I'd managed to get a good representation of it on video. I've mentioned a couple times that he manages to fall asleep with his foot up in the air by his head, even sitting up. This is right after the video of him climbing down my shirt when he decided it was time for a nap again and rolled over on his own. He likes his foot by his face, for whatever reason. Bibi mentioned it might almost be like the bird version of sucking on your thumb, and it really seems like it to me. A comfort thing when you're falling asleep.

He gets the itch to scratch, goes at it, and the foot just never seems to go back down. I love it!

He is really cute! What an adorable video

Our Cockatoo used to do that with her foot on her crest, but she wasn't sleeping on her back when she did it. I do think you are right though, it did seem to be a calming thing to her too.

Yeah, Baby does that, too,....... when he's standing on his perch closest to where I sit with him. (Can't see what he does in his sleep hut.) He'll start this when I'm head scritching him. Must be a conure thing. When I see him doing that (if I'm not scritching him), I try to scritch him and then we are both working on his head. At the same time. Gets kinduv crowded.

I do think it's a form of self-comforting, though.

Your little fella is totally fascinating. I had no idea conures were such wonderful, entertaining birds......until well as being absolutely adorable.

Your little guy wins all personality tests as far as I'm concerned.

EDIT: I've tried to get pics of Baby, but the instant he sees the camera he's climbing down or over to try to chew on it. He's fascinated by it.

It might be a bird thing in general, I caught one of my cockatiels doing it yesterday briefly. lol.

They really are amazing aren't they! I knew they were personality firecrackers, but never had any idea it would be like this.
I would love to see pictures of Baby though (: he sounds like a fun bird.
