What dolls!

Do they get along well? Are they interactive with you even though they have others of the same species in their flock?

Thanks Shivani for the awesome siggy!

Thanks every one.

Divet, the female has a limited vocabulary but speaks clearly. Casey talks a lot but also mumbles a lot. He calls out to me "Hey Baby, Give me some sugar, Give me good sugar". When I was wiping down his cage he asked me "whatcha doin" I told him I was his new housekeeper and I was cleaning his home. He responded with "I don't know what to do about that"

Their cages are close enough that they can climb right over to each other's cage. Divet climbs over to his but won't allow him to climb on hers but he reaches over and steals the paper towels that are lining her play gym on top.

Today I was sitting at my desk and their cages are lined up next to my desk with Divet's cage nearest to me, when all of a sudden I heard this growling. I jumped up to find Divet and Casey both in Casey's cage and he was growling at her. I had her step up and put her back on her cage. If it becomes a problem I will separate the cages so they can't climb over. They are both clipped so can't fly

Yes Nanny, they are both still interactive with me though for some reason, Divet was angry for two days and would scream whenever I came over to her cage. Today she seemed over it and was her usual loving self.

They are so adorable! I think because you house them in separate cages (smart idea, BTW), it allows them to have a great relationship with you as well as one another

I talked to Casey's first owner today and she told me Casey is 3 1/2 yrs old. She is coming by tomorrow (she live about 5 miles from me) to give me Casey's DNA report and to see Casey. She asked if she could come by once in a while and I told her that would not be a problem. She also said if Casey and Divet ever have babies she would like one.
Divet is, maybe, around 13 1/2 yrs old. I believe I am her 3rd person. The lady that had Divet said she rescued her from someone in So Fl who kept her in their backyard and she had to fight rats to keep them from getting her food. I am told the first owner had her for 8 yrs. The second owner had her about 5 yrs. Her elderly dad came to live with them and he didn't like Divet. Whenever Divet saw him she would scream because she wanted attention. They made a family decision to find Divet a new home and I am it. I have had her since Nov 2010 and plan to have her until she goes to the rainbow bridge. Though these are my first parrots, I have never given up any of my pets. They are here to stay with whatever baggage they have.
Both my dogs are rescues and my rottweiler was obviously mentally abused. She use to take a bite of her dinner and look around to see if someone was taking it away. She has never been aggressive and we give her lots of space. She likes spending a good part of her day in her crate but has been venturing out to be with us more and more.

Sounds like a good place to live with understanding pet parents!
