How About Some Oatmeal??

I was fixing oatmeal this morning and thought I'd give Libby (my GCC) a taste. This is the "old fashioned" variety, not instant.

Did she like it?? Oh my, you betcha! This is the best picture I could get. She kept running toward me and either posing or beaking the camera!

Next time I'll try giving some to Angelina (my Parrotlet) -- she's way more picky than Libby, so should be interesting!

Thanks! I just noticed the oatmeal on that purple perch in the front of the picture! (it's actually on the platform door that drops down) I imagine she cleaned her beak everywhere, so I'll be on an oatmeal hunt today! Oh well, it's worth it -- she really enjoyed it!

Jo Anne,
I always smile at your cage pics. Your birdies have so many fun toys! Libby looks like she's smiling in this one.

She so cute, but i am worried Jo Anne, she seems a little neglected in the toy department. Am I going to have to call animal services and have them do a drive by to check on you? Poooooor Poooooor Libby.

Uh oh! I'd better hide! Welllll, I do have three more toys coming in the mail tomorrow -- does that help? Plus between my Parrotlet and Libby, I have FOUR large bins (the kind you can slide under a bed) FULL of toys! Hmmm.....I never thought of that, I could put more bins under our bed! I've been keeping them in the bird room, silly me!

About the oats, I don't know about the instant or quick cooking kind -- maybe someone else can answer. I always use the "old fashioned" variety that cooks in about five minutes. We just like the taste better. Hope Angelina will eat them too!

Kiki LOVES oatmeal! I just fed her some this morning! Her beak gets all messy with it all over, and she tries to wipe it on me.

4 bins of toys?!!!!! Ok everyone at Talk Parrots it is time to do a toy intervention at Jo Annes!!!!!!!!! And to make sure it sticks we will each take home about 20 toys each. Wow, Jo, i thought i was bad stuffing everything in Crickets cupboard under her cage and here you have a whole other storage place under the bed brilliant. Maybe DH wouldn't find out how bad it really is if i tried that. Makes me think i better go shopping!!

HA! HA! I did make a lot of them, plus when my friend gave me Angelina, she also came with all her toys and accessories! Gotta love it!

I don't know how many on this board know it, but I must admit that, on Talk Parrotlets, I'm a founding member of TA - Toyaholics Anonymous!

Don't feel bad! It's not really that crowded, just the angle of the picture, I think (I hope). It's a really big cage (A&E Conure Castle) and I was taking the picture at an upward angle.

The toys hanging at the top are hanging from one of those yellow spiral "boings". I have it hung across the top domed part of the cage with extra stuff hanging on it. She gets inside of it and plays with all the toys as she climbs along the length of it.

Also, the back of the cage looks really close in that picture, it's not really.

Gosh, I don't want everyone to think I'm crowding her living space TOO much! BIRDY ABUSE!!! I'm not, really!

Okay, I'm new at this. I've read a lot about the bird having enough room to spread it's wings. Max's cage looks sparse compared to Libby's. Maybe that's why he spends so much time on top.

Also, I have a question about gyms. Can anyone recommend one for a quaker. I looked a several online last night.
