Green Leg Caiques

Just click. DO it!

Not my birds. Not my baby, either.

Such cute and friendly family parrots, I'd love to buy a couple right now.

Very cute! Although I have to be the one who rains on the parade and say it made me wanna crawl into a ball seeing the baby shoving their fingers in their mouth and then trying to touch the caique Pasteurella is a very nasty bacteria found in mammalian saliva that can, does and will kill birds Green thighed caiques are pretty hard to come by though, it was nice to see one in action. I saw them a few times at Loro Parque

There are two of those green thighed Caiques in this family, I stalk their youtube, lol. Maybe they are not so rare in their country?
I was actually pretty impressed by how careful the parents seemed to be, making sure their baby didn't hurt the birds in his enthusiasm. But that's only cause I didn't know about the bacteria!

I KNOW! I am really torn, because I am going to be getting a caique, but I can't afford two. From everything I've read, though, if you try to introduce a 2nd bird a few years down the road it doesn't go so well. They have to know each other pretty much from the start.

It is a cute video and beautiful birds. I do hope that as the toddler grows so does his training on proper socialization with pet birds.

He will make an awesome future parrot owner if his parents guide him in the right direction as his learning abilities develop.
