Yo Daisy!

There is HR sennie baby for sale at Worcester right now, but might be too early for you right?

I got Duke from Preloved.co.uk

I suppose you already know this - with senegals it's best to get them as handreared baby - it's nice that people like to rescue older ones but they can be hard to tame.

Pros - everything is good about Duke

Cons - can't think of anything bad and I'm being honest with you.

I can spend all day with Duke and I don't feel stress, but I cannot do the same with the conures. Sennies are such chill birds.

As you can see from the video, you can flip a Senegal over and he isn't stress by it at all - put on a harness on a senegal I guess would be no problem if you want to take him/her outside, Duke is so cooperative at all time.

That's great at the moment I'm saving for three birds. A sennie which is the next in my list, a black capped caique and then my green winged macaw. I really want to harness train my sennie and macaw at least. My conures and Joey hated their harness have you ever been bitten by Duke?

They say that Sennies are prone to phobias but Duke is just like every other parrots, I don't see any abnormality at all, he is as brave as the conures and not spooked by everything like people says.

I'll be back to this thread if I can think of anything bad

Duke has the behaviour of a macaw, he gnaws on my fingers but never bite and that is the truth. He loves head scritches all day.

Harness training is not needed with Duke, I can flip him over and put anything on him and he is not bothered by me touching him at all.

Also Duke is happy to be sitting in his cage if I don't have much time.

He is not as bouncy as a black capped caique, but can be just as playful all day at a slower pace.

Definitely recommend!

Duke is so cute tippa, how long have you had him?

I never realized just how great they were until I got mine, senegals are so wonderful little birds, I can't wait to get more of them.

Well thank you

I have had Duke for about 7 months and he is roughly around 10 months old now - he was at 3 months old when I brought him home.

He is so cute! I love it when you can flip birds over on your back, so adorable!
You guys are making me want a Senegal now! I've been reading lately how good of birds they are!
