Smile My camera-shy Yuki

My little green linnie lady is camera-shy.
Here I wanted to show you how she nibbles my curtain, but when I came with the camera she stopped of course.

(Please enlarge the pics)

But at last she donated me a nice bathing picture.

This is typical linnie behavior.
Although there is no shower but a bathing bowl she hangs upside down a branch as if she expected a heavy jungle rain shower in nature.

Yuki is beautiful. She is such a deep green. My linnies do not take a bath in their bowl. The other day, one of my canaries was using the bowl as a bath and the linnies were underneath catching the droplets. I guess they wanted a bath so I got out my mini sprayer and got them nice and wet. I wish they would just use a bowl, I feel that I force them to have a bath by deciding for them.

Your linnie is so cute! I've never had linnies, but I think they could be a good pet for the right person. Is she hand tame at all?

Thank you Mr. Peepers for the sig!

Yuki is beautiful!! I love her color! If I were to get another linnie, Yuki is exactly the color I would love!

It's not quite easy to make linnies use their bathing bowl.
The size, the water temperature and the position of the bowl must be fine.
The first six weeks Yuki wouldn't bath. Then one day she did it in the drinking bowl.
I understood: She was afraid of our former bathing bowl, it was too large and deep.
So I bought her a low one.

I've had her for less than a half year now.
She is afraid of hands, but not as much as Paulchen is.
I can pet her with my face of my nose sometimes, she is a bit trusting.

She's such a lovely green! She looks like a really sweet bird, and loving that bath!

Our guys love the mini mister (thanks Anna), I just spray their door perch on weekend mornings and they come running for a bath! In between they use their water bowl.
