Dexter is looking fine!

Dexter, is the biggest camera hog ever. He even flies down and lands on the lens. Cheeky! I took a load of close ups of him and some of him on top of the wardrobe doors (his new favourite place). There are some really bad flight shots and I know one is soooo blurry but it was worth it for the fact he is flying at Jacks face ... tehe!

Anyways, sorry about the photo overload...

here's the awfully blurry one

Great pics, I love the one, second to the last of the first set, where he is one yours/jacks finger.

Also love the Breakfast at Tiffany's poster.

Daisy,
He is gorgeous. Is his beak going to stay light? Does he really have yellow on his face? It looks like he does. I didn't realize that the turquoise would retain any true yellow coloring. Also, it looks like he also has the red right above his beak. Does he? I'm really surprised if he does. He is beautiful either way.

Thanks Shivani for the awesome siggy!

Thanks everybody!

Tippa, I'll get more don't you worry! I've only had him a few days and I have about 400 pictures

Bob, yeah he was on my hand and I love that picture, mines like a giant canvas thing. I do have a big poster thing of Pyramid Head from Silent Hill above my bed though

Nanay, yes his beak will stay that colour, yes he does have a lot of yellow on him (he's a yellow sided!) and yes he does have red above his beak. He also has little splats of purple because he mauled a blackberry but thank you

Sarah, thank you

Since he has that light colored beak, I am wondering if he is also a cinnamon mutation, which would also be called pineapple because he is also yellow-sided.

I was not aware that birds in blue series mutations could retain yellows and reds. That is very interesting, and beautiful. He is stunning.

I can't remember. Do you know for certain the bird is male?

(I'm not sure the name "pineapple" is used outside the US?)

Thanks Shivani for the awesome siggy!

Pineapple is used outside of the US, it's the cross between yellow sided and cinnamon haha. I'm not too sure. I think he is just a yellow sided, somebody on here (I feel awful for forgetting their name) has the two conures Ricky and Lucy. Ricky is a yellow sided turq and looks just like mine and his Lucy looks like a cinnamon turq. So I think he is. I don't know whether he is male or not. But I assume so, as did the breeder. But thank you

The cinnamon mutation is what makes the beak lighten up. Maybe his beak is darker than I think it is. Is his beak black? Also, I don't know if the beaks start out light and change to black or if they start out black if they are going to be black.

Another thought, maybe the blue mutation does something to the beak, but I doubt that.

Actually Nanay, I think his beak does go black. Do all baby green cheeks have pale beaks? Here's some pictures of some turq yellow sided...

furthest on the left in this one

the one on the left (the other is a pineapple turq)

here's a cinnamon turq

here's some pineapple turqs

he is 100% yellow sided. I didn't realise the beak changed colour

His beak is like the one that is kind of in between, isn't it. It is as if it is half black and half horn colored, but you can see that the pineapple one definitely has a totally horn colored beak.

Well, very interesting. I will be wondering how his beak turns out. I also wonder if they all start out with horn and then go black - if they are going black.
