Thank you! Elsa (the blue one) is almost 1.5 years old, and Gilbert (the green one) is about 8 months old.

They are beautiful. Are they olive and blue gray. I love the solid colored budgies.

Are female budgies smaller? Miss Kauai, while she eats really really well, is pretty small. She not underweight, but just looks smaller than other budgies that I've seen

Elsa is a mauve opaline and Gilbert is a grey yellow face type II opaline.

I'm guessing the females are, either that or Elsa is just a tiny girl. When I got Gilbert, we was 4 months old and he was still bigger than Elsa, and she was 1 year old.

Judging from how big Gilbert's head is I would say he has some English in him somewhere along the lines, hence why he appears a lot bigger They're gorgeous!

I thought some too when I first got him, but people over on Talk Budgies didn't think so. So Elsa isn't just freakishly small

Perhaps the bowl is too large and deep. I had to buy a new bathing bowl when I got Yuki (green). She was afraid of the big bowl my two guys loved. One day she showed me the reason. She took a bath in her drinking bowl.

I've used shallower ones before, but they don't touch it. It seems they don't understand what I want them to use it for, which is why I usually mist them. Though I don't think they appreciate the misting very much.
