He does poof up if i give him a scritches with my other hand, but I'm holding the camera with one hand and giving him scritches with the other hand was a bit awkward and he didn't enjoyed it all that much. The video was only to show how easy going a Senegal can be. I can flip my senegal over on his back, touch him everywhere if need to and he doesn't mind at all. I know I can get him into a harness even without harness training cause he is so laid back

You should take him out on one! And I get you now. I've never seen a puffy senegal!

I think you don't see a puffy Senegal is due to the fact the their facial feathers are very short and hard, even if they feel ticklish and they puff up their feathers you wouldn't have notice. So yeah you're right, they don't poof up like the caique parrot.

The senegal we had at the pet shop would fluff his neck feathers, which you could see, when getting scritches, but not the face? It seemed like a senegal specific thing, likely due to the feathers like Tippa mentioned

I've gave out false data. I had a closer look of my Senegal facial feathers and they look like quite long feathers so I don't know why they not puffy when receiving scritches. Maybe Nanay will know, she always pointed me in the right direction

I love his baby face, Tippa. After a while you forget what they look like when they are babies.

Roni only fluffs her neck feathers, too, but I never stopped to wonder why. I don't think Ashlynn's facial feathers get fluffy, either. I think it is probably how they are built. Now I'm going to have to check this out with all of my birds - oh, and maybe I better check out all the babies at the bird store for good measure.

Thanks Shivani for the awesome siggy!

That didn't take long! Jenny, you win the prize. Unfortunately, there is no prize.
Cannary has been begging for a white faced tiel for a long time. In fact, we had a deposit down for one when she fell in love with Taylor, but they didn't have any, and she decided to go with Taylor instead - but she always hoped to get both.
This baby came in two weeks ago. They told her it was a white faced baby, but she looked at it and just turned her nose up. She wouldn't even hold it. We looked at it again last week, and same reaction. She had said she was going to hold out for a white faced pied, and it was just a white faced. Then, yesterday, it was perching on the edge of its little baby box. It's parents had plucked the back of its head, and those feathers are just now growing back in. She picked it up, and petted it, and that was that. I kept asking her why she wouldn't even look at it when it was younger, and she kept insisting she had never seen it before. I guess it looks like a totally differnt bird to her now than it did then. She thought it was too dark before, but now she thinks it is beautiful.
It has no name at this point.
But I want you all to note how this works - for you own MBS.
It is NOT my bird. It is my child's bird.

Additionally, she has always planned to house her tiel, when she got one, with her princess of wales. She did her homework on that before she got the POW. They should be fine together. They come from the same continent and are commonly housed together in aviaries. Do understand that if these particular birds do not like one another we will not house them together, but Taylor shows no hint of disliking other birds or having a desire to be housed alone at this point.
And, yes, I hope to post photographs of everyone this weekend. I have a 4 day weekend.

Tippa,
Sorry this got stuck to your thread.

Thanks Shivani for the awesome siggy!

Yay, I win the prize! I should make myself a medal - first to catch Donna, sorry, Cannary's latest bird! Nah, I know she's been wanting one for quite some time, I'm glad she was finally able to find one that spoke to her, third try is the charm right?

Yes, she is exactly like that. She wants what she wants, but she has to fall in love, but I guess we should all be that way with living beings. We should think they are very special.

Nanay, That is excellent! Congrats to Cannary on her new bird!. It's great to know what the tiel in your signature is all about now.
