Sennies can be phobic, which leads to nippy-ness. If you raise them right, socialize them well, and expose them to new things from an early age then they will usually be just fine

how are senegals for noise volume? ive heard them screaming on youtube, the sound doesnt bother me, but i wanna know if they are loud? i may look into one as my next bird in the far future. ive met a few at petstores and i love how friendly they were, they were just really playful and sweet, though a tad nippy over their food bowl LOL my fiance tried to pet one while he was eating so he got nipped. but munch's bites are worse. but i did not find them territorial, just like what are you doing, im eating here lol they just seem like excellent parrots

If you can handle your lovies' noise volume then you'll have no problem with a senegal. I have no problem with Duke's noises. My conures makes much worse noises than Duke. A senegal is as playful as lovies but their paces are slower, they are as cuddly and laid back as tiels. If you love your lovies and tiels then a senegal is a cobination of the 2. Duke is not cage territorial or food aggressive. I think a senegal is perfect for you. I do recommend a senegal for your distance future bird

definately sounds like what i would want, that or a pionus, but senegals might be better on upkeep and such, so i think it would be a good match. i got years to think about it, but they just really catch my eye. i love their faces the most, they remind me of a hawk with those eyes! but the ones we've met were always so sweet.
