Baby kakarikis

I managed to get all three out of the box (they're still in there but they always lean out ) and have a play with them. I let them have a little bath too and they LOVED the misting. I can't believe how BIG they are compared to my other chicks, so big and chunky

Here's the youngest

The middle child

The oldest (they got to play in Dexter and Pickles huge cage while they went elsewhere)

And here's another cute pic of the middle child

Ain't they precious!?

Hehe thank you guys! They're wonderful. They are available there but if I am correct they are very uncommon. I will be taking a pair or two with me to breed so if you're interested then let me know haha

Thanks I really don't think they're common over there. I don't think I've seen any on any bird store sites. They're wonderful birds!

They are way too cute!!!!!! I just adopted a "grandma" kakarikki. Someone bought her to breed her. When they took her to the vet he said that she is old and going blind. So I took her in for however long she has left. She is so fun to watch!

Thank you all

How are you finding the mess and the running around? they're absolutely insane little birds (well, they're pretty big... but they're little to me), running around EVERYWHERE and flying like lightning. Scratching food like a chicken but WORSE! I think they're on the same level for mess as lorikeets and they're pretty messy

My "grandma" doesn't make a mess at all. And she will pace on the perch some but most of the time she just sits. The vet said it's because of her age.

Thank you Kate!

When we had them in the store I worked for, they did dig a lot, and throw food and bedding everywhere, but that only made me love them more, I always wanted a chicken/parrot hybrid lol

Mine is the normal green color. I'll see if I can get some pics of her to post.

Here's one of the babies from our store, though the store does not exist anymore.
