The Whole Nine Yards

Hi all! I feel guilty for sitting here reading and not posting. I'll start by saying its been a busy fall and I come home from work tired. I am grateful to have a job!

The budgies kept me busy for a few days as they had scaley mites. I decided to find the meds and treat them my self with some good advice from a helpful breeder. I also cleaned and disinfected all the cages. They are doing very well and look much better. I decided to house all 6 in the flight cage, and so far its worked out well. Frenchfry is being nice girl and not kicking seed every where.

Since I know had an extra cage I gave it to Sweetpea, our parrotlet. She loves it and moves around more. I can tell where she's been when I clean, everywhere!
Hopalong had a smaller cage, so I gave her Sweetpea's old cage. Hopalong has more room to fly now, and hop as she wishes. She does quite a bit of hopping in her cage. she flies like the wind when out!
The zebra finch boys got a new nest after they wore one out. We love to listen to them neet neet all day long.

Nanna is perky and full of herself most days. Some days when the weather changes she is a bit grumpy. I lowered her perches a while back after she fell and had a limp for a couple days. I recently put one bsck and she is loving it and seems to be doing ok with it. Someone is home all the time so we can keep tabs on her if she falls. I have two bath towels doubled with lots of paper on top. When she does fall its a soft landing and she climbs back up. She is not happy with me if I try to help her, she barks at me!
Ourfour conures are another story! Oggie is the oldest, and most nervous. He has the blinds in front of his cage closed all the time. All he does is sentinel call constantly. other than that he is so sweet and loves to be held. If I hold him long enough he will fall asleep. He still pines for Bella....
Bella is full of pin feathers, and as she allows no one to touch her she is not happy right now. She is cute in the mornings. She is on my husbands shoulder as he makes lunches, and taps his cheek when she wants a bite. She has him trained. Bella is relieved to be allowed back on his shoulder after Nanna hogged him for months. Nanna is better now and doesn't require constant holding when we were home.

Remmy and Tuco are a team for sure. They are together constantly. Tuco is a Black cap and Remmy a Green Cheek. Remmy is so spoiled, and was when we got him. He is the king pin, the first big bird for us. He is very attached to people, and to Tuco. Remmy has the cataracts and we aren't sure how much he sees. He can be very precise, then stare off into space. He is flighted and has never once flown into a wall or light or anything.
We have four tiels now and are really enjoying the differences between the conures and tiels. Charlie has claimed down a lot and is trying to trust more. He has good days and days where is is not sure. We talk to him and whistle with him and he is pleased. Cinnamon wants to be sprayed till the bottle is empty, or my hand cramps up! My newer tiels Good Charlotte and Sebastian are beginning to bond and I even saw them eating crown to crown out of a treat cup tonight. Sebastian doesn't let his bum foot slow him down at all. He stretched out his wings tonight and claimed the cage as his. That was nice to see.

Rosey our Bourke is very well. She has a whole flight to herself and she and I like it that way. She watches over any bird that lands on the carpet and will stay with them till they find their way back up. She also likes to harass the budgies, its quite amusing!

We have a little girl mouse named Ebony that is cute and does her mouse thing. I thought my granddaughter would like a mouse but it was a passing thing, of course! So she's mine. I call her a mousakeet. She loves to be held and given a good rub.

Three gold fish that were feeders and are getting larger every week! One female Betta named Button, she just got a new 5 gallon tank. She has not decided if she likes it yet.

I hope you enjoy the update!

Thanks for the update! Busy busy! My sister has pet mice as well as pet rats - they're really very cute! Oreo and Cookie keep to themselves but when you do get them out they enjoy a good ear rub

It was great to have an update. It seems life is just getting in the way of all of our posting. What's up with that?

Thanks Shivani for the awesome siggy!

I think shorter days, and thoughts of the holiday season fill up our days, mine anyway.
