I was wondering if anyone owned a macaw?

They're such amazing birds and I wanted to see if anyone was lucky enough to have one o this forum!

Aw, your Hahns is so adorable! I love their faces, they always seem to have a baby face! Ours is just very nippy lol But that comes from living a year in a pet shop

Thanks! She does really well considering. I think the hahn's biggest problem is the people in our department are always changing. I'm hoping she'll find a good home soon though!

Goober is just too sweet, it must be such a joy to have him I love how you held on to his foot and he let you, he sure trusts you a lot

They may not be your whole world but they do make your world whole

I have serious respect for those who have macaws. They scare the **** out of me. I can look at them and stand there and watch them all day. Their beaks are too big for my fear factor. Yes, I have been bitten by one and that was enough.
Our largest is a Senegal. I would love to have a Timneh though
You all have my respect!

I got grabbed by a Blue and Gold a few years ago. I got too close to her dad for her liking. She grabbed be around the wrist and her beak went right round. Didn't actually hurt but I felt the pressure on my wrist for about 5 minutes. I think I would rather get a bite like that than a bite from a Corella. When they bite they tear and that hurts.
