Scully

OK guys, don't think I'm insane..... We've been hearing the lady missed Scully and kind of wants him back. My family and I are going to Iowa and were going to have her take care of Scully for the weekend. I've decided to give Scully back because the lady's just a kind old lady. She trusted me with her bird and gave me a great experience. Scully was kind of a test for me to see if I could train a bird.... Well I did. She has offered me to go to one of her friends home that has rescued over 40 birds!!! Budgies to macaws!!!! So I thought if the lady wants Scully back, I could get a bird of my own. So now it's weird in the morning not hearing Scully. I miss him, but I know he's probably being spoiled right now! I'm now on the hunt for birds.....

Wow, so sorry to hear that, but as long a Scully is happy, that is all that matters.

You are definitely a bird person, and should get another. Any thoughts on what you would like to own?

Wow... that was not what I expected to read when I opened this post... I do not know your situation or relationship with Scully or the original owners situation or relationship with him , so I cannot ( and would not any how ) judge you on your decision.. I hope you can find the right bird for you... good luck!

I think that was incredibly kind and compassionate on your part. I'm sure you will find the perfect bird and will have a long and wonderful relationship with him/her.

You will LOVE a green cheek conure... they are great little birds... I agree with the above post that was a very compassionate thing to do.. and I am glad they are both happy with the change... I guess to Scully it is like going home after a long vacation.

Aw, that's too bad. I thought he was a temporary thing but I didn't think he would be going back this quickly. Good luck in your search for a bird of your own. Would you consider getting another grey?

You did a great thing by taking Scully in for the time that you did knowing all along that he would be going to the daughter when she was able to take him. I am surprised the original owner decided to take him back instead of the daughter, but this is perhaps better for you, anyway, as you learned what you wanted to know and can now find a bird of your own.

Do you live in an area where quakers are legal? I ask because my quaker is as cuddly and fun and playful as my green cheek while at the same time having some character traits more similar to my grey.

By all means, if you specifically want a green cheek, get one of those. You should get exactly what you want. I only suggested a quaker because I thought maybe you were still deciding on a species.

Thanks Shivani for the awesome siggy!

This actually upset me a little bit. I'd forgotten all about the fact you had to leave him at some point but I never expected it to happen this soon at all. You did a great job caring for him and he really did because a part of the forum. I can't wait for you to get a new bird though! I was completely in shock when I read the thread! You were a great owner and I'm glad you want another bird

How are you doing now without a bird? Are you coming up with any possibilities for one of your own?

Thanks everyone! Quakers are legal nanay, so I'll take that into consideration. It's pretty lonely though....
Also cioci t I'm not considering a grey, they're out of my price range!

The owner said she's friends with a bird rescuer (or something like that) and she offered to take me. I haven't looked at a local rescue because I can't find any locally!!!!
