Getting one of my dream birds in 2 days!

We have had no luck finding this dream bird, and after so much stuffing around with people not calling back, or the bird had been homed with someone already, or some other excuse, I found one!!

Someone on FB that is part of a parrot breeders page put me in touch with a man that had 2 female Eclectus' that need new homes. When we rang (a few days ago), he only had one left.. We didn't have the $ for her there and then, not until today, but the man was so nice that he said he would hold onto her for us.

We rang back today to organized when she would be coming home, and she will be coming home this weekend, on Saturday!! We have chosen a name for her, we are naming her Mia.

There was a change of plan and I had to go pick her up today, but she is home now, and she is the sweetest little girl, and adorably cute. She makes this sqwaking noise that sounds really funny. I have a video too, but need to upload it.

Here are 2 photos, taken with my phone so not the best quality, I don't want to bother her too much after all the travelling she did today.

First photo is on the way home, and second is of her in the cage (this is not the cage she will be staying in for good, need to get a cage with thicker bars, but it is okay for now).

Thank you all. We couldn’t be happier with her, she is eating pretty well too - she ate fresh veggie mash this morning with some sprouts.

Oh Renae, you make me so envious, my brother and I were looking at a baby girl for me on Sunday, my Bobby is not proving to be a bird that really likes hands and cuddles at the moment and due to my separation and loneliness he though a more cuddly addition to the much reduced flock might be a good idea.
But alas it wasn't to be, I could raise the coin needed for the new baby but not the housing, so sadly the idea was put on hold for a bit.
She is BEAUTIFUL Renae, you will have a wonderful friend in her.

Common sense: about as extinct as the Dodo!

My baby : Bobby, Green IRN
