Ok guys, she is home but scared stiff!
Bless her, she hasn't been out of her cage for almost a full month whilst her owner has been critically ill and then she spent several hours today in a travel cage while her cage had a quick scrub and then the trip here
She isn't bolting but she's sat very still and eyes fully dilated. I offered her some roti and she hesitantly took it but then instantly chucked it on the floor.
She is tame although I'll find out how much as she settles in and opens up to me. Her cage is a good size, will have to check those suspicious rust spots I can now see on camera and still needs a little wipe down with something good for dried on crud and I need to get her new toys etc and she will fit right in
Her owner passed away at 5am this morning. He is the second owner she has outlived
. She was up for urgent rehoming due to the medical situation getting worse since christmas. Orange winged 'zons are the most common birds I see in shelters and they don't shift quickly around here that's for sure...I just couldn't leave her
She's something a little over 10years old. I will check for a leg ring tomorrow but she's all hunched down on the perch and I don't want to scare her more. Her original name is 'Jazzy D' but my kids are getting confused saying that so I suggested we call her Jasmin instead (and probably I'll still call her Jazzy for short) and they liked that better
