The antibiotics were for a bacterial infection. She has a bad heart and it seems she has had it for longer than we have had her. It explains most of her behavior. She is hanging in there for now. She eats a little, naps and tries to eat more. This condition is for the rest of her life. She is weak, she can't take very much handling. She needs a nail and beak trim, but is too weak for the ride there plus being handled. I put her in her cage for an hour today to lift her spirits. After awhile I could tell it was wearing her out, so put her back in her sick room box, which is see thru. She got mad and chewed some paper before sleeping. She has a fav toy to chew on which she is using. She is so thin its sad and scarey.
I want to let you all know that the vet we took her to several times did not give use the results, correct results about her blood work. Had we known about her heart she could have had the correct meds months ago and might be doing better. The vet we took her to this week was careful not to bash the other vet, but made it clear they had mishandled the case. I do not like vets, they practiced on my bird. Oops, well sorry, maybe next time we'll get it right. If you live in the Portland area and want to know which vet office to avoid pm me. I'm trying not to bash publicly.
