Unhappy My Beautiful girl

Yesterday Storm passed away
She had a prolapse and some of the tissue was turning black. The vet offered to try and push it back in. I could tell she felt terrible and I did not want her to suffer, so I held her well the vet put her to sleep.
She was five years old.
I miss you my beautiful girl I hope I did the right thing

I am so sorry! What a horrible thing to happen. You did the kindest thing for her. She is a beautiful little girl. She's soaring with the angels now. I'm so sorry for your loss. They're so little but they leave such a huge hole in our hearts when they leave us.

And God said, "...let birds fly above the earth across the expanse of the sky." And God saw that it was good.

Sorry for your loss what a terrible thing to happen to such a lovely bird. Still, you took her to the vet and gave her the care she needed. You did the right thing

I am so sorry for your loss. When you look back, try not to second guess things. It is hard when you loose someone, but you did the right thing and the decision wasn't a light one.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I've seen a bird with a prolapse that they pushed back, but the problem is it will come out again if she tries to lay or strains herself. I feel like you did the right thing, if that's any comfort to you

Thanks guys
The other birds did look for her for a while.
Icarus is still doing her chirps but he does everyone's noises, even a bell.
I miss her, Linnie's are such cool birds they just don't live long enough.
I found a lifespan study that said 6.5 years max but I'm sure there is still not 100% known about these cool little birds yet.

Yeah, I agree. There just isn't much info out there about Linnies. About them in captivity or in their natural environment.

Thanks guys
She left at a time when my work was getting crazy busy and it took a long time to stop going to get her out when I got Spike out or going to change her water when I changed the others.
I listen to the song let her go by passenger and I always tear up.
I miss my pretty blue girl.

I know how you feel -it hurts for such a long time. It was the same for me when we lost our Cockatoo.

Are you thinking of getting another? I hope Spike and the others are doing well. Glad to see you back on the forum
