Unhappy Sad news

I decided to ask for an update on Fernando, the white fronted Amazon parrot that I was preparing to bring home for October, last night

Not good news

His owner had been keeping it from me because he didn't want me to get upset knowing I'd recently lost my indoor flock, but well, Fernando had passed away a little while ago

I never even got to meet him and I've been crying over him. He wasn't as old as he could have been, but his previous neglect, bad diet and goodness knows what damage had already been done had just topped it all off I think. At least he passed away loved by his rescuer and even myself

He started fitting severely and his current parront rushed him to their avian vet. He died when he got there

I don't even know what else to say about it all. I know his owner meant no harm keeping it from me, he knows what I've had to go through and I think he thought it would be the icing on the cake. It hasn't helped, I'll give you that

I just hope his suffering is over

Daisy I know this is another blow to you, but I think if he was going to pass, then better he passed before you took possession, that would of been even more devastating. You always would of wondered what you did to cause it.. So sorry this has happened again... Hang in there. I hope your doing ok.

I'm so sorry Daisy, but I do agree with ParrotletsRock. At least he didn't pass away after you had brought him home because I think that would have made things even worse for you grief wise.

Sorry to read about Fernando. I do think his suffering is over. We get attached to these little cuties so fast, don't we?

Hi Daisy,
I'm so sorry to read about Fernando's passing.

We become so attached to our wonderful feathered friends, and they really are part of our family.

I can understand the heartache you must be feeling right now, but at least any pain and suffering he may have been going through is over.

Fernando, you'll be missed.

John.

Thank you all so much. You probably all think I'm being silly being as I hadn't even met the fella yet but it's just gotten to me

I completely agree with parrotletsrock as well though, if it was due to happen soon and I'd of taken him on by then, it would have been a kick in the teeth

His suffering is over, and I guess that's what matters more than anything. I wish I could have done more for him. He was definitely loved in the end though, even if one of us had a long distance relationship with him

Not being silly at all, you are a very compassionate soul! You have been anticipating having this guy for a while now and you got attached because of that. It was just one more loss in a string of losses lately and that is hard to bare sometimes.

I'm so sorry to read that, Daisy!
He was such a beautiful and adorable guy. And you were so happy that you found him.
But it wasn't meant to be, that's so sad.

Fly free, Fernando!

Daisy, it's not silly at all. I cry when I read posts that someone's bird passed or when a dog is abandoned etc etc.
