Bye, Jasper...

Jasper passed away on Friday.
I think whatever Minnie had he got too, because he died the same way. I found him on the bottom of the cage, unable to move much, fluffed up and very sick looking. It was so sudden. He was much more alive than Minnie had been when I found her, and I desperately held him and urged him to drink water or something, anything. But of course, he didn't. I held him and petted him, kissed him and told him I was sorry for whatever I did wrong, and that I love him. I knew going to the vet wouldn't help. For Minnie it was far too late.
So he passed that night. I have yet to bury his little body. I feel like I must have done something wrong and that's what upsets me the most, as I always put my birds first.
I also feel bad for Celia, as she must feel very lonely having her best friend gone.
I'll always love him.

That's so sad Abby sometimes these things just happen and we can't do anything. Rest in peace

Maybe you should get another budgie for Celia. She must be so sad now. Poor baby

Thank you for your kind words, Daisy.
I'm considering bringing in another small bird or a pair of small birds. I'm not sure if I want to commit to another budgie, but you're right, it would be very nice for Celia. She is housed with Kiki, however. They bring each other a little company.

She's housed in the same cage? And they get on?! That's awesome so how many spare cages do you have? Minnie's old cage and the budgie one? You could get another small bird like a lovie parrotlets and in the other a pair of finches?

Yes the budgies and Kiki get along well! They have been housed together for months. I'm just as surprised as you are! I would have never expected that to be the case.
I've got three small spare cages.

They aren't very big at all. I have figured out ways to put them together haha but I would prefer bigger cages for my birds. They would work, I'm just saying if I were a bird, I'd want a bigger cage, hehe.

Silly! You would make quite a bit, enough to get another cage for sure!

Probably only $25-ish per cage though. It's a start.
Here are the cages...

I'd say sell the lot for about $75. That gets you off on a start, then you could look around for another one for about $100 and something? What kinda bird would you want?

I really want that lovebird I showed everybody....
If I could keep one of the smaller cages and sell enough crap of mine including one of the smaller cages, on Craigslist for a lovebird, that would be really cool. And then after that I can save up for a larger flight cage for the lovebird.
