one year gone :'(

as of today, December 5th, at 5:20 PM Pumble will have been missed for one year there is still a hole in my heart that he left one year ago that will never be filled. i am still on the journey to find another opaline yellow face type 2. i hope he lives on through Butch and Lenny. i think he is keeping an eye on me and the fids. when i have my doubts with fully taming butch, i remember Pumble and how i didnt want him at first and i thought he was untrainable. he turned out to be the best trained bird on the universe! butch will take a while but i will never give up on him i never have a thought that i will never see Pumby again, because i know when i die, he will be sitting there at the gates of Heaven waiting for me.

you will be forever missed

after having "one of those days" on the 5th and 6th, i feel like every year it will be like that, where the day just goes down hill... :/

I'm so sorry... that's so sad.

I believe it's been a year since Dexie died.

And I know about "the hole in the heart".

About the hole in the heart thing, I don't think mine can be fixed. Axel, my Indian eagle owl, passed away in 2010. I still cry like a baby thinking about her. I raised her from a few weeks where she was nothing more than a ball of fluff. She died so suddenly, it was horrible. I got a letter this morning from the Independent Bird Register. I register my birds of prey with them because if one was to ever get lost while being flown they will actually look for them and if somebody finds one then they know it's mine from his ring number and such. I renewed Chalkie's and I got Bandit registered earlier on in the year, just after I bought Bandit. They're okay until 2015. I registered Axel back in 2009 and so hers has ran out. The letter asked me if I would renew it and it gave me a little tick list at the bottom. It said:

I enclose to renew the above birds registration
The above bird died
The above bird was lost on... (the date)
The above bird was transferred to.. (as in a new keeper)

Having to tick the second box broke my heart, again. I opened it and just sat down. It might not seem like much to some people, but it really hurt

So sorry Daisy... Yes these things can still hurt... I put down my best dog in '01, she was an old girl and had cancer so it was the best thing for her as she was starting to suffer. I still tear up when I think of it even after all this time. I will never stop loving and missing her . So I understand, as many of us do. Some people just don't get it tho and never will.

I only had my dog put down a few months back now. He was as old as I was and he's always been there. Once I've moved into my new home I intend on adopting another. My life doesn't feel right without a dog in it!

I know how you feel. It's been more than a year since we brought Kawaii the linnie home on fireworks night last year. She turned out to be the perfect bird. She was almost saint-like. She was literally like Jesus in bird form. She was very gentle, patient and affectionate. Those big wondrous eyes were so full of love.
Sometime in February, my 4 year old sister killed her by hitting her with the perch. I still cry about her now. She meant so much to me. I, too, can relate to the "hole-in-the-heart".
Even though I will still have my budgie and senegal and more birds in the future most likely, even though these birds have helped to patch up the metaphorical holes, they will never be fixed completely. And when Frank the amazon died and pichu the budgie flew away, the holes have got even bigger and are even harder to patch up. I feel so incomplete. Sorry about your Pumble. He sounds like a wonderful bird. I'm sure he knows how much he will be missed and will be waiting for you up there. He will be flying above the clouds, but he feels incomplete too, because he will always be waiting for the day that he can be reunited with his best friend

I only had my Tarzan 3 short but wonderful days, he didn't even get to start his life, he was less than 8 weeks old passing. I still will have a piece of my heart missing from that baby. Gone but never forgotton.
