Favorite vegetables

I thought I would ask what your birds' favorite vegetables are.

The vegetable I find to have the largest following is carrot. None of my five birds prefers carrot over all other vegetables, but all five will eat carrots well. This is the only vegetable I can think of that ALL five like, although I have to admit that only the linnie, Elisa, is picky about vegetables.

Roni's, senegal, absolute favorite vegetable is sweet potato.
Elisa's, linnie, absolute favorite vegetable is sweet red pepper.
Isaac's, splendid, absolute favorite vegetable is chard.
Stanley's, bourkes, absolute favoite vegetable, if he is eating alone, is romaine.

If Stanley is sharing a salad with the other birds, his favorite is whatever anyone else has in his/her mouth that he can steal. So, perhaps sharing is the wrong word to use here.

Daisy, maximillian pionus, may some day develop a favorite, but right now she eats everything with equal gusto. I don't know if she is just happy to have all the variety after having been in a store for several months or if she is just so amenable by nature that she will always eat whatever we give her.

So, what vegetables do your birds favor?

Thanks Shivani for the awesome siggy!

My budgie Buckbeak loves bok choy. My grey Baby doesn't like vegetables. He only likes fruits. If we give him a leaf he throws it to the ground.

That's an easy question for me! My 3 Parrotlets and my Pineapple Green Cheek Conure ALL eat the CORN first! The Parrotlets' veggies are now pulverized with a Magic Bullet so they can't pick out the corn and toss the rest, so they eat everything.

For Libby, my Conure, it's always this way when she gets mixed veggies: #1 - corn, #2 - carrots, #3 - peas, but NEVER #4 - green beans -- she always leaves those behind!

My budgies are completely obsessed with lettuce!!

I'll put some down and they all act like they haven't eaten in years! They just gobble it up!

My cockatiel eats pretty much anything she sees me eating. It's a wonderful technique when feeding her healthy additions to her diet.

Two of my kakarikis will only eat lettuce, I've tried everything and they turn it down. The will have a munch on an apple every now and then.
Chewee my other kakariki however loves most fruit and veg you give him. He loves tomato, apple, banana, grapes, lettuce and oranges the most haha.

I've never heard that. Has anyone else? I have given my birds both dehydrated and fresh bananas, but the bananas here in the states are not ripened on the tree. My daughter who is from the Philippines tells me that they taste totally different and have a totally different texture from bananas that are in the Philippines.

I don't want to choke my birds. What have others heard?

I haven't heard that one, either. I heard that about peanut butter, which seems more likely (although I still don't think I believe that), but not bananas...

Maxx is fond of Corn, then Peas, then Carrots, when I give him mixed veggies. Lately I have been clipping a piece of fresh Broccoli to his cage, and he has been going nuts over it.

Bob,
I think it is great that you are presenting the food like that. It makes it a toy, and the birds often seem to enjoy the variation in presentation.

It was spinach and broccoli but those were recently overtaken by CORN and peas!
My two would do almost anything for corn but I have to limit their intake lately because of some hormonal issues (vets advice).
They prefer their greens attached to the cage with clips (or from my hand) but are still very picky with other veggies... but I will always keep offering - it took almost 2 years for them to even try the peas and now they love them. Persistence is key
