Fruits and Veggies

My green cheek conure, Kiwi has been with us now for a couple weeks. When we got Kiwi we were told to get this mix for food that was seeds, fruit pellets, and so on, so we did. She seems to love it. After continuing my research, which I had also done before purchasing Kiwi and had second thoughts about purchasing the food that I did but thought the clerk would know what he was talking about. I went back and got some different food that is more of a mixture of nuts, dried fruits, etc. and mixed it all together and she seems to love this mix.

My problem now is that I cannot get Kiwi to eat any fruits or vegetables. I have tried hand feeding it to her, putting it to where it is the only thing she can get to while she is out of her cage (which is a lot more than she is in it). Should I try cooking them, or smashing them up or something. Any ideas please help.

One more thing while I am here. When we first got Kiwi she loved to take a bath. I would just fill a bowl up with warm water and she would jump right in. After a week or so, she just quit doing it. Now I use a spray bottle and spray her down and she seems to love that. She comes up and spreads her wings and lets me spray her down. Is this normal?

Yes that is totally normal for her to do that, it just shows she is enjoying her shower!

Mashing the fruit n veg is a great idea, mix seeds and pellets into the mash too and I believe that she may just love it

You could also try just sprinkling a few seeds onto the fruit and veg to get her interested in it and if she gets the idea that they taste good etc from having a bit of them on the seeds then you could get her to change her mind

I finally got her to eat apples and brocolli. The apples I acted like I was eating them and held a piece in my lips and she took it from me - after that all I have to do is show her an apple and she will eat it. The brocolli she finally just started eating, bananan she sampled but does not seem interested in. Kiwi teaches me new tricks everyday.
