i got the tiels eating pellets. long story short, i know ive said before i wouldnt get them because theyre pricey, and that ive tried them before and my guys didnt like them, but a friend gave me a sample of hers and my guys LOVED them... well the tiels do. the lovies picked at them at first but now wont touch them. these kind are affordable for us, only just affordable.
my problem is still about munch's eating issues. she only eats sunflower seeds. shes so stubborn, ive removed them from her diet and she absolutely refuses to eat. she eats her veggies really well but thats it. she doesnt touch the rest of her food at all.
things ive tried:
sprinkling pellets on her veggies
putting them in her seed treats (not sure if shes eating them, looks like she just eats around them, and wont eat if its only pellets)
mixing them with her seed
keeping a separate dish in the cage for just pellets (she drops seed shells in there instead)
ive taken out seeds in morning and just left pellets. nope doesnt matter, she refuses to eat.
ive put them in foraging toys, she eats a few and then dumps it.
giving ONLY pellets for out of cage time. nope wont touch them.
freezing them in ice cubes with carrots. at the carrots, left the pellets
tried soaking them but she ignores them
ive wrapped kale around them and hid them in the kale. nope spits them out
what other ways can i try? she needs a better diet and shes so freaking stubborn. im wondering if she wasnt weaned properly.
mango picks at them, but thats the extent for him. he does eat them in his treats. the tiels ate them right away and eat them as much as their seed (i keep both in their cages)
im at a loss of what to do.
