Which size Pellets?

Hi everyone,
I'm ready to order some TOPS pellets online for my GCC coming home in a few weeks, but I'm not sure which size to get for my baby! Do I get the small size or the regular size?

Thanks!
Sarah

You can start off with the small size. The GCC will have a better time eating it. You can get the bigger size later in the future. I don't think it really makes a difference as long as he eats it at the end.

Congrats on the GCC! I would love to hear about him when he gets home. They are one of my favorite species of birds. They would totally be my next bird if they weren't so aggressive with cockatiels.

The only reason I never had one before was because of my other birds as well. I've always wanted a GCC because of their playful and cuddly nature… plus I dealt with biting with my lovebirds so knowing they are prone to be nippy doesn't bother me… however, I still cockatiels are wonderful little birds too… definitely my next choice to having a GCC

Thanks for the advice! Much appreciated.

It seems that I cannot purchase the TOP pellets in Nova Scotia Canada

Anyone know of a way around this?

Why not? Where have you checked? I would look on other places like amazon or ebay. What website did you look at?

I really love Lafebers pellets. You should try looking into theme. The birds love it!

I used the Fine when Maxx was on Harrison's. I swithed him over to Roudybush Crumbles and he prefers them over the Harrisons.

Not many birds care for Harrison's, especially not initially. I've had many birds on Harrison's over the years though, and I will say I do like the pellets. I also really love Roudybush, and birds tend to warm up to Roudybush faster than Harrison's. I've looked into TOPS but have not tried them yet. Daisy/catalinadee wants me to!

Thanks for all the info friends!

I'm in Canada… I know I can order/get Harrisons here, but it's not my preferred brand (my lovebirds refused to eat it in the past) however, every try on the other brands they don't want to ship to the east coast it seems. :\

I bought Zupreem to start out, just in case I can't get something in time.. hoping I'll have better luck.

***EDIT***

OMG I finally found a local Roudybush distributor! I've got the crumbles coming in within the next week. Thanks for the help everyone!

Honestly, Mojo refused TOPS at any turn. He is OK with Harrison's, and LOVES Zupreem, which I wish I could break him of. But with his chop and other homemade treats he gets all the nutrition he needs. There aren't any websites you can order them from?

I finally found a distributer in my city for Roudybush. So that's what I'll be going with

Thanks again.

Hey everyone!
The Roudybush pellets are a success with my Kyo She seems to enjoy them. Not as much as she enjoys the Zupreem fruit blend, but she does at least eat them when I offer them to her. I'm also giving her 2-3 nutriberries each day to help encourage foraging.

Thanks for all the advice!

That's good to hear! I'm not a fan of pellets all that much, especially because of lots of recalls, but I am a big fan of TOPs. I used the crumbles for my greenies!
