Judi beat me to it! I've always made my own mix of roudybush and seed, but I'm trying Kathie's pellet-free mix to put with my Roudybush and see how Goober likes it. It's cheaper in the long run by about $1.75 a lb! I'm also switching the little guys off roudybush and onto Kathie's pre-done mix with pellets, it ends up being about $3 cheaper a lb! And that's with me buying the Roudybush in bulk lol

Jenny, what are you paying for Roudybush in bulk? I get it for $3.49 a pound.

I buy 10lb bags - they keep for a good 2-3 months (resealable bag) and, if I find I'm not going thru it fast enough, I freeze the extra. The 10lb bags are $29 on Foster & Smith, mysafebirdstore.com , and our sponsor persnicketyparrot.com . So it ends up being about $2.90 a lb, probably closer to $3 when you add in shipping, but when I buy it, I make sure to buy both my 10 lb bags (I get nibbles for the linnies, tiel, parrotlets and the small for Goober) and then a toy or two, or some seed mix, to hit the $60 mark for flat rate shipping at $5.95 instead of $15-20

Yes. I'm a little worried because the pellets are bigger, it looks like, and a different shape, but I will let you know how it goes I still have a good bit of their old mix left, probably a month's worth, to use but I like to order everything together to get the cheaper shipping

I mix my own. Little seed, little roudy bush, little zupreme. Plus cheerios, and nutra berries, and fruit/veggies. Daisy will eat the veggies. The others ignore them. They all ignore the nutraberries. lol All my birds were fed straight seed before I got them so getting them on the good stuff has been a real trial.
