I think I just put my question on the wrong site-I'm new here!!! I wondering if any things it's better putting fresh food in a certain place in the cage. Pablo (my Sun) doesn't touch fresh foods if they're in a dish hanging from the sides or on the floor-only if I can skewer them somehow. That doesn't work too well with alot of things!

I have those! He loves them-but it's hard to put things like scramble eggs and rice on them!!! I thought maybe birds like to forage on the floor-or maybe they prefer dishes high up?

They do like to forage on the floor for sure! You could put them in foraging toys too, like you could put some eggs in a foraging feeder or something

Welcome, Elizabeth!
I think it really depends on the species and individual bird's preferences. You might find he eats these foods better if he can watch you eat them and eat at the same time as you begin to introduce them to him. You can also chop fresh veggies and fruit in the food processor. This is a great website that talks about making "Chop" for your birds:

Pablo is a Sun Conure-he already eats quite a few foods-it's interesting because some he won't even consider (sweet potato, eggs, peppers) and others (like kale, grapes and carrots) he chows down. I just asked since he seems to really like his food if it's hanging and won't go for it if it's on a dish on the floor of the cage.
